Conceptual Master Plan for the new school
Thanks to the generous support of the TMS community, The Montessori School, formerly New Horizons Montessori School, has become one of the finest Montessori schools in the area. Ongoing strategic thinking and rigorous self-assessment enable TMS to identify opportunities for The Montessori School to meet the needs of our students.
The support of the entire TMS community provides funding that helps with current and long-term needs. There are many ways to support TMS and help us provide our students with a superior Montessori educational experience.
Students learn from our Montessori Guides that they themselves are their most important teachers, helping each student become the masters of their own learning. Please contact Janet Easlea, Director of Development, at 215.542.0740, ext. 12 or jeaslea@themontessorischool.us for more information.
The Annual Giving Fund provides unrestricted support for current operations, underwriting the costs of faculty salaries, financial aid, teaching supplies and maintenance. Tuition only provides about 85% of the cost of educating a TMS student. The Montessori School depends on financial support provided by our caring community through the Annual Giving Fund to close this gap.
Support comes from all constituencies at TMS – current parents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty and staff, grandparents, Trustees and friends. Giving to the Annual Fund helps support every aspect of our school and helps The Montessori School sustain the academic excellence for which we are known.
It is important to support programs that reflect our core values. TMS feels that nothing is more important than the education of children. Making The Montessori School , one of your philanthropic priorities, honors TMS students and our students honor your support every day.

Gifts to Endowed Funds are placed in a permanent fund, where the principal is invested and only the income and dividends earned are spent. Individuals may make a gift of any amount to The Montessori School’s endowment fund.

A gift of appreciated securities can bring the donor greater tax savings than a gift of cash. If you donate stock that you have held for more than a year, you will receive a tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities on the date The Montessori School receives the stock. You are not required to pay a capital gains tax on the appreciation.
Alumni, parents and friends who work for a company that matches an employee’s charitable giving can obtain a matching gift form from the human resources department of their employer. The donor usually fills out part of the form and sends it along with the gift to The Montessori School. The Development Office will take care of the rest. To find out more about the Matching Gift Program or to find out if your company will match donations to New Horizons Montessori School, contact Janet Easlea at 215.542.0740 ext. 12 or jeaslea@themontessorischool.us .
