Conceptual Master Plan for the new school
Thanks to the generous support of the NHMS community, New Horizons Montessori School has become one of the finest Montessori schools in the area. Ongoing strategic thinking and rigorous self-assessment enable NHMS to identify opportunities for New Horizons to meet the needs of our students.
The support of the entire NHMS community provides funding that helps with current and long-term needs. There are many ways to support NHMS and help us provide our students with a superior Montessori educational experience.
Students learn from our Montessori Guides that they themselves are their most important teachers, helping each student become the masters of their own learning. Please contact Ralph Henninger, Director of Development, at 215.542.0740, ext. 12 or rhenninger@nhms.info for more information.
The Annual Giving Fund provides unrestricted support for current operations, underwriting the costs of faculty salaries, financial aid, teaching supplies and maintenance. Tuition only provides about 85% of the cost of educating a NHMS student. New Horizons depends on financial support provided by our caring community through the Annual Giving Fund to close this gap.
Support comes from all constituencies at NHMS – current parents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty and staff, grandparents, Trustees and friends. Giving to the Annual Fund helps support every aspect of our school and helps New Horizons Montessori School sustain the academic excellence for which we are known.
It is important to support programs that reflect our core values. NHMS feels that nothing is more important than the education of children. Making New Horizons, one of your philanthropic priorities, honors NHMS students and our students honor your support every day.
“As parents, who understand the effect of New Horizons’ mission firsthand, we must all step up to make both an immediate impact as well as set the foundation for future students.”
—Susan and Chip Goodman, Parents of Allison, Lower Elementary
Thanks to a lot of hard work by the initial Campaign Committee of volunteers and the financial gifts of a number of generous members of the New Horizons community, the School has neared the ninety percent mark in the Expanding our Horizons… Realizing our Potential Campaign, and is now inviting the entire school community to participate in this unique opportunity to secure and renovate our new school.
The goal is to raise $775,000 in gifts in order to provide funding for:
Nearly $700,000 has been raised to date. The School still needs gifts in order to meet the goal and improvement projects cannot be undertaken until the necessary funds have been pledged.
These renovations and improvements will create the prepared environment that is so critical to the Montessori program.
At our new campus, classrooms are double the size of standard classrooms. Bathrooms have been installed in the Toddler classroom, appropriately sized to accommodate young children. All classrooms now have sinks and running water. Outdoor improvements will assist scientific study of the natural world. The school now is able to offer a full Summer Camp experience for children age 3 to 5.
We need your help to realize a dream that the NHMS community has shared for many years. The Director of Development, Ralph Henninger is available to answer questions and provide additional information regarding how you can participate in this important effort. Please contact the Director of Development, Ralph Henninger at 215.542.0740 x12 or rhenninger@nhms.info
