Marc Berman, PhD
Coping with Anxiety and Stress; Children and Nature
New Horizons is thrilled to have Marc Berman as the third speaker of our Parent Teacher Education Series.
Berman is ahead of the curve in his research involving human interaction with nature and the effect on the brain. His research has recently been cited in Science Magazine, the Boston Globe, London Daily Telegraph, The New York Times as well as other media outlets.
On April 14, Marc will discuss the findings of his studies on stress reduction, concentration, short-term memory and executive functioning and how to restore these functions via interactions with nature.
Marc is a graduate student at the University of Michigan where he is in a joint Ph.D.program in cognitive psychology and industrial and operations engineering.
With the advent of spring it is fitting that Marc Berman will share simple and profound activities to recconect with nature and to enhance our sense of overall well-being
